Maintaining oral health

For the utmost care of your teeth and gums, oral hygiene measures play a pivotal role. It is because improper brushing can lead to collections of bacteria around your teeth and gums. Therefore, regular brushing twice a day before breakfast and after dinner is advisable. Failing to comply with this can lead to oral infections, gum diseases and smelly mouth etc.

Hence we should have a strict oral healthcare regime and regular dental check-up visits.

Tongue piercing

Tongue piercing used by many as oral jewelry is not appreciated by dentists because it can affect many teeth and cause tongue problems. In addition, it can keep on pushing hard against your teeth and break them. Apart from this, it can interfere with the x-rays. Hence dental professionals do not favor teeth jewelry.

Alcohol and smoking

These modern lifestyle habits affect not only systemic health but also oral health. Alcohol is acidic and leads to erosion of teeth. Apart from this, increased levels of sugars can render your teeth more prone to cavities. Also, alcohol can affect salivary production hence overall health.

On the other hand, smoking causes damage to your gums or gingiva, making them more prone to damage that cannot be reverted. Therefore, one needs to be very careful while having occasional consumption of these provided oral health care measures are followed.
